A love letter

We should really call this a love letter to the community rather than an open letter. Now that your gracious applause has quieted down, the Stumptown Players would like to thank the Flathead Valley for all you did to make our first show, "Sylvia," a rousing success.

Our new theater company was started with no small amount of trepidation. A "new out of the box" venture is risky. We were optimistic, but certainly unsure, about how the community would respond. From our first hours visiting local businesses asking for their support by advertising in our program, we have been blown away by your response.

Thank you to the White-fish Theatre Company for the use of the O'Shaughnessy Center. Thanks to all the businesses that advertised in our program, the generous show sponsors, and to all the folks who came to see the show and talked it up to their friends.

From opening to closing night, our audiences tripled. We owe much of that to you. We have learned what to expect from this wonderful, arts-loving community. Going forward, you can expect from us some more. We have been proud to chart a tiny bit of new territory in the local theater community. You can rest assured that you haven't seen the last of us. Please keep your eyes and ears open for us on the theater horizon.
