Lady Dogs get JV win
The Lady Bulldogs JV tennis squad won
an impressive dual against rival Columbia Falls on Monday, winning
five of seven and each of the doubles matches.
Whitefish’s No. 3 doubles team of Eden
Hotzfield and Azlan Holiday took down McKenzie Christopherson and
Kira Kamrud 10-2 in a pro set.
“They played very aggressively,”
Whitefish coach Patrick Dryden said. “They were all over the
court.”
Juniors Anna Carpenter and Maggie
Frankino won at No. 1 doubles 10-3 and Lauren Cain and Hailey
Vazquez won 10-1 at No. 2.
Simone Craft topped Kirsten Wendt 10-2
at No. 2 singles and McKenzie Wick won 10-0 at No. 3 singles.
“Our younger girls are really
improving,” Dryden said. “If we played a bunch of JV they’d really
shine through.”
The next JV match is May 7 against
Columbia Falls.
The varsity squad will travel south
this weekend for duals with Corvallis and Havre, then will play at
a Bitterroot Invitational.
“We’ll hit a lot of balls and that’s
what we need,” Dryden said.
