Dear Santa letters from 1926
Dear Santa Claus letters, written by Columbia Falls youngsters in 1926, were mailed to Icy Cape, Alaska, care of the Columbia Forum. Following are copies of some of the letters, all dated Dec. 14, 1926.

Dear Santa Claus,
Are you coming with your reindeer this year? If you do, will you please bring me something? I don't want much. I want a new doll, because my doll's arm is off. I want a wrist watch. If you will, you might as well bring me some candy. That isn't all I want. I want a lot more. I want some paints. Oh, hold your horses, I want more. I want a new dress, because mine is torn. That's about all I want.

Dear Santa Claus,
I thought I would write and tell you what I should like for Christmas. First, some candy and nuts, and then I will give you some before you go. Please give me a tea set so I may give you some supper before you go back again. My little niece wants a little doll and my nephew wants a train of cars that will wind up and run a long way.

Dear Santa Claus,
Will you please bring me a book, a game, and a stocking of candy? If you will bring me these things I will try to be a good girl. I will not throw snow balls at you this year.
Well, Santa, I will tell you why I want these things. I should like to have a book to read. I have read all the books over and over until I almost know them by heart. I want a game because I have none. I want some candy and nuts because I like them very much.
Santa, be sure not to forget my little brother in Spokane and bring enough to make him as happy as possible.
I will write to you some other time and tell you what my other brothers want.
