Ryders earn third at Bozeman
The Wave Ryders swim team brought home
the third-place trophy after scoring 42 points at the Bozeman
Classic on May 13-15. Twenty teams and more than 300 athletes
competed in the event.
Overall, the Ryders earned 13 golds, 10
silvers and 10 bronze medals.
Jordan Loyda won six gold medals in the
16-year-old division with wins in the 50, 100, 200 and 400
freestyle, and 100 and 200 backstroke. He was also named the 2011
Montana Swimming Sportsman of the Year.
Caroline, Dye won seven golds in the
8-and-under group, including wins in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle,
50 and 100 back, and 50 and 100 breast.
John Ahles (boys 17-18) won third in 50
back stroke and 50 breast stroke.
Breanna Barnes (girls 17-18) earned two
silvers in the 200 freestyle and breast stroke and a bronze in the
50 fly.
Hannah Lally (girls 8-and-under) took
third in the 50 freestyle.
Joseph Loyda (boys 9-10) was second in
the 50 and 100 back, 50 and 100 freestyle, and the 100 fly.
Joshua Loyda (boys 15-16) was third in
the 50 fly, 100 free and 100 breast. He took second in the 200
IM.
Jessica Stenberg (girls 15-16) was
second in the 50 breast.
Ryders coach Peter Loyda was named the
2011 Montana Swimming Assistant Zones coach.
