The Columbia Falls High School Class of 1961 will celebrate their 50th reunion during Heritage Days on July 29-31. They are still looking for classmates Linda (Berrian) Danielson, Tom Dakin and Mickey O'Connor and class sponsor Mildred (Shaw) Emerson. West Glacier farmers market
The West Glacier farmers market will take place in the parking lot next to the post office on Fridays beginning June 17 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The market will feature arts, crafts, fresh baked goods, plants, greeting cards, photos, jewelry and music.
Dental program
Soroptimist International of Whitefish is taking applications for its "Smile of Hope" dental-care program for women. Now in its fourth year, the program provides up to $2,000 to qualifying low-income working women from the Whitefish and Columbia Falls areas who are head of their households and have no access to dental care. A 200-word personal statement, job verification, financial statements and references also must be submitted. Concert series
Cocinando will perform Latin jazz music at Marantette Park on June 16 beginning at 7 p.m. as part of the Columbia Falls Lions Club's summer concert series. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are suggested. In event of rain, the concert will be held at the St. Richard's Catholic Church, on the U.S. 2 strip.
Parsons new NVH midwife
Certified nurse midwife Pam Parsons recently joined Glacier Maternity and Women's Center, a division of North Valley Hospital. Parsons has a bachelor's in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993. She received her master's in nursing and certificate of midwifery from Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing in 2011. She has more than 18 years of nursing experience in labor and delivery and in a busy prenatal and pediatric clinic.
3-on-3 help
The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteers to help out with its Heritage Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 29-30. This is the chamber's major fundraiser and has raised more than $3,000. Volunteers are needed to set up the courts and monitor the games.
