Larry was a member of the Church of

Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his childhood in

Koosharem, Utah, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy aboard the

destroyer U.S.S. Everett F. Larson. He served from 1960-1963. He

spent much of his civilian life working at auto mechanic shops in

Arizona and in Whitefish, where he worked for Stacey Oil Company

until his retirement when the shop closed.

Larry loved living in the mountains of

western Montana and enjoying the outdoors. He especially liked

spending time in and around Glacier National Park. He enjoyed

reading, tinkering with cars and spending time with his

grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his daughter,

Terrie, her husband Sven Peterson, and grandchildren, Eiger and

Laeta who live in Colorado; and his son, Lawrence, his wife Tonya

Arneson-Torgersen, and grandchildren, Tresa and Devin Torgersen and

Christian Arneson who live in Washington.

Larry is also survived by his brothers,

Garth, Noel, Rodney, and Dwaine who all live in Utah; and by his

sister, LaRee Porter who lives in California. He leaves behind

numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members as

well as the friends, neighbors, colleagues and clients he got to

know over the several decades he lived and worked in Whitefish.

The family would like to thank

emergency responders and the staff of North Valley Hospital for

their efforts.

Friends and family are welcome to

attend a simple memorial service at the Koosharem, Utah cemetery at

10 a.m. on July 30.
