Mary Babcock

Mary Louise (DesRosier) Babcock, 78, of Columbia Falls, passed away of natural causes Nov. 2, 2011, at North Valley Hospital. 

Mary Lou was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Browning, the daughter of Stuart and Helen DesRosier. In 1951, she married Mitchell J. Babcock. They lived in Browning, where they raised eight children, moving to Columbia Falls in 1976.

Mary Lou worked in banking in Browning and Columbia Falls while also being a nurturing mother to eight children.

She is preceded in death by her husband Mitchell, son Scott, three sisters and one brother.

Mary Lou is survived by her children and their spouses, Janet, Tony and wife Linda, Stephen and wife Carolyn, John and wife Kathy Ake, Paul and wife Teresa, Ron and wife Lisa, and Doug and wife Courtney; grandchildren Mitchell, Kyle, Michael, Drew, Angela, Amanda, Bryson, Emily, Shawn, Jacob, Coulton and Cooper; great grandchild Avalon and two due in March 2012; sister Jane Shook; brothers Peter DesRosier and David DesRosier; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass was celebrated Nov. 5, 2011, at St. Richard's Catholic Church, in Columbia Falls, with the Rev. John Miller officiating. Interment followed at St. Richard's Catholic Cemetery, in Columbia Falls.
