Fatal texting wreck story to be aired tonight
NBC's "Dateline" delayed their show about the 2009 car crash that killed Columbia Falls resident Erin Thompson and her son Caden Odell last week in order to air a special on the trial of Michael Jackson's doctor.
"Crossing the Line" will be broadcast tonight, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m. on cable channel 13 in the Flathead Valley.
Justine Winter was convicted of two counts of deliberate homicide in the March 19, 2009, death of the pregnant mother and her son. Prosecutors claimed text messages from Winter's cell phone indicated she intended to commit suicide by running her car head-on into another vehicle.
Winter is now in the Montana's Women Prison. Viewers of the hour-long show will hear directly from Winter as she tries to explain what might have happened that night and shares her words for the victims' family.
A preview of the show is available online at www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032600/vp/45052883#45052883.
This is the second national network show that has covered the Winter case. In August, the ABC news magazine "20/20" broadcast an hour-long report about the crash and the trial.
