Historical calendars

The Columbia Falls Historical Society is now selling 2012 calendars depicting scenes from the city's past. They are available for $15 at Super 1 Foods, Freedom Bank and Glacier Bank. For more information, call 892-5953 or 892-3722.

Night of Lights

Registration forms for the Dec. 2 Night of Lights parade are available at Glacier Bank, Glacier Discovery Square, NAPA Auto Columbia Falls and Roger Newman's dentist office. Planning board

The Columbia Falls City-County Planning Board will start reviewing the city's growth policy starting in January, but they want a full representative board in place with nine members. There currently are two openings for county representatives who live outside the city but inside the city's two-mile planning and zoning "doughnut" jurisdiction. Church bazaar

Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 640 Seventh Street West, in Columbia Falls, will hold its annual bazaar, cookie walk and homemade soup and pie luncheon on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Handcrafted items and a large assortment of Christmas cookies sold by the pound will be available. Proceeds from the sale will go to several mission projects within the Flathead Valley and overseas.

CASA for Kids

The Flathead County Republican Women will meet at the Red Lion Inn, in Kalispell, on Monday, Nov. 21, at noon. Jamie Campbell, program director for CASA for Kids, will talk about the Court Appointed Special Advocates program, which advocates for abused and neglected children and works exclusively with foster children throughout Flathead County. Book sale

The Columbia Falls Library Association will hold a book sale at Glacier Discovery Square on Friday, Nov. 18, from noon to 5 p.m. with fiction and nonfiction, old and new books. Proceeds will benefit the library.
