Chamber luncheon

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their membership meeting at the North Valley Hospital Community Room, 235 Nucleus Avenue, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guest speakers Adam Paugh and Florian Seeger will talk about their growing quadrocopter business. The company makes radio-controlled copters with cameras mounted to them for aerial photography. Cost is $!0 for lunch. Reservations are not required. For more information, call Carol at 892-2072.

Cub scouts

Columbia Falls Cub Scouts Pack 4101 will hold two recruitment nights for boys in grades 1-5 and children 6 or older on Thursday, Sept. 8, during the farmers market on Nucleus Avenue and Monday, Sept. 12, at Glacier Discovery Center.

Fermenting workshop

Pam Gerwe, of Purple Frog Gardens, will teach a "Fermenting Fun Workshop" at Discovery Square Center during the farmers market on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 5-6 p.m. Fermentation is a method of preserving food with salt. Attendees will take home a pint of salted cabbage that will become sauerkraut within a short amount of time. Cost is $10 and a minimum of 10 pre-registered folks.
