Park talk

Mountaineer Blake Passmore will present “Glacier National Park from the Summit” at Flathead Audubon’s meeting at The Summit, in Kalispell, on Monday, April 9, beginning at 7 p.m. A member of the Glacier Mountaineering Society, Passmore has written a guidebook and articles on his climbs in the Park.

Owls course

The Glacier Institute will offer a day-long course on “Owls of the Mission Valley: Hoots and Haunts” on Saturday, April 14, with instructors Matt Larson and Jessica Crowley, from the Owl Research Institute. Field trips will provide information on habitats, adaptations for silent flight, hunting, breeding and life histories of owls. Course fee is $65.
