Chamber summer series to feature Americana festival, BBQ smoke-off
The Whitefish Summer Series kicks off July 22 with a free outdoor performance by the Glacier Symphony and Chorale, one of the highlights of the week-long Festival Amadeus. Special guest violinist Tim Fain is the featured soloist for the event.
The following weekend of Aug. 4-5, the Great Northern Brewing Co. presents a two-day festival of top Americana music, including headline performances by some of the most acclaimed singers, songwriters and performers on the Americana music scene today. The six-band lineup will be announced in late April, with tickets going on sale May 1.
August 10-12 is this year’s Huckleberry Days arts festival. More than 100 artists and vendors will display their work, which also features live music and entertainment.
August 17-19 is the Stumptown BBQ Smoke-off, a three-day celebration of live music and barbeque. More than 20 top barbecue teams from across the region compete for nearly $10,000 in prize money.
The annual SNOW Bus Summer Brewfest is set for Saturday, Aug. 25. A dozen of the top micro-breweries in Montana will gather in Depot Park for the event.
Wrapping-up the series over the Labor Day weekend will be the Annual Montana Music Festival featureing three days of classic country, rock and bluegrass music Aug. 31 through Sept. 2. The festival kicks off with the Montana Band Midnight Jam at the O’Shaughnessy Center, then continues on Saturday and Sunday with a pair of major outdoor concerts. The line-up for this year’s fest will be announced May 15 when tickets go on sale.
