City court
By resolution of the city council per Section 3-11-101, Montana Code Annotated 2011, the Columbia Falls City Court has been established as a city court of record. City Court Judge Tina Gordon says the court “looks forward to serving the public with this new and exciting formation.” The court will close Thursday, Aug. 2, at 2:30 p.m. for training and will reopen to the public on Monday, Aug. 6, at 8:30 a.m.
Concert series
The Columbia Falls Community Choir, a 100 voice group with something for everyone, will perform Thursday, Aug. 2, as part of the Columbia Falls Lions Club Concert series. The series will wrap up Aug. 9 with a doubleheader concert by the Maw Brothers at 6:30 p.m. and Brass Werks at 7:30 p.m. Brass Werks will feature “Back to Basie” tunes, including “Matador,” “Teddy Bear’s Picnic” and “Homage to Glenn (Miller).” The one-hour concerts are held weekly at the Don Lawrence Amphitheater in Marantette Park, in Columbia Falls. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are requested. The audience is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

on display
Photos and artwork by and about North Fork homesteader Helen Huck Voelker Ramon will be on display at the Columbia Falls branch library through the month of August. Artwork by Ramon and her brother is on display at the Polebridge Mercantile.
Boys and girls summer camp
The Boys and Girls Club still has openings in their summer program. The camp runs Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $50 a week or $15 per day per child. Activities include gardening, cooking, playing, crafts, movies, reading and tutoring. For more information, call 892-2697.
Board opening
The recent resignation of a member of the Flathead County Board of Adjustment has left a seat open through Dec. 31 this year. County health open house
The Flathead Community Health Center will mark National Health Center Week, Aug. 5-11, with an open house on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Flathead Community Health Center, 1035 First Avenue West, in Kalispell. Visitors can meet the staff, providers and board members, learn about services and programs, take a tour of the clinic, and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Fish hatchery open house
The Creston National Fish Hatchery, 780 Creston Hatchery Road, will hold an open house celebration on Friday, Aug. 3, from 1-3 p.m. in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Visitors can walk through the facility’s nature explore area and outdoor classroom.
