Let's solve the green box site problem

The executive committee of the Bigfork Steering Committee wholly supports Charlotte French in her efforts to stop the closing of the Bigfork Green Box site.

Several questions arise, why wasn’t the community of Bigfork notified of the action in a formal statement to either BSC or BLUAC, the chamber of commerce, or the Community Foundation for a Better Bigfork? The community has been left out of the loop in a decision making process.

It would be very easy to gate the site, and use highway barriers along the borrow pit which wouldn’t make the site any smaller. I have never seen any conflict with the compacting trucks and site use. Why doesn’t the department have a random patrol to monitor the green box sites?

I was told several years ago by a reliable source that a group of contractors offered to fix up the site, fence it and gate it, and they were turned down.

As French stated, “if there is a problem you should propose other solutions.”
