Choices

| December 12, 2012 8:22 AM

To die with dignity and choice is legal in Montana (and also in Washington and Oregon) if I am terminally ill, mentally competent and physically able to self-medicate.

My physician of choice is willing and legally able to provide me with prescriptions, which will enable me to be in control of my dying (if I so choose) with less pain and suffering — for myself and for my family and friends.

I am extremely grateful for this legal right to die with dignity. Yet I am extremely sad that my husband, who wished this for himself, died before this choice became legal.
