Christmas is year-round at Klothes Kloset in C-Falls

It is Christmas year-round at the Klothes Kloset in Columbia Falls. Church Women United sponsors the successful volunteer enterprise.

Kris Skyberg, manager, estimates that at least one family receives some type of assistance each week. There were 36 bags of clothing and household supplies given to 18 individuals and families. Sick room supplies ranging from adult diapers to walkers, bath stools and toilet extenders were distributed. Two child-size walkers and clothing were given to children.

Foster Care program received clothing and blankets for families. Children’s clothing for foster children was sent to Browning.

Head Start and Columbia Falls schools received clothing to use in case of emergencies and new socks and costumes for the Columbia Falls theater program.

Unusual assistance, sheets and pet bedding, was provided for spay and neuter clinics. These could not be used for quilts made by Klothes Kloset volunteers.

Planting pots and tools were given to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for their annual plant and pie sale. Habitat for Humanity receives proceeds.

Clothing was given to Seventh Day Adventist Church.

United Methodist ladies received assistance with their prayer quilt project. A quilt was given to Methodist youths for fundraising project.

Lutheran World Relief benefited with sheets, old blankets, materials for baby clothes layettes.

An amazing three five-gallon cans and 10 sacks of pop tabs were donated to Ronald McDonald House in Kalispell.

Puppets, school supplies and books were given to Head Start.

Blackfeet Community Hospital was given soap, lotion and clothing for their store. Northwest Montana Veterans Food Pantry was given clothing.

Toys and knickknacks were given to Christmas at Our House at the National Guard Armory in Kalispell.

Gift wrapping paper was donated to the American Legion Auxiliary for their Christmas store at the Veterans’ Home.

Montana Veterans’ Home and North Valley Senior Center received jigsaw puzzles, vases and books.

Total of 160 lap robes made at the Klothes Kloset were distributed to Columbia Falls Lions for summer concerts, Colonial Manor, Lutheran Home, Heritage Place, Lakeview Care Center, Ronan State Bank, Montana Veterans’ Home, Polson St. Joseph Hospital and Brendan House.

Klothes Kloset at the north end of Nucleus Avenue is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
