Swan River Community Hall Board Meeting

A public meeting for the Swan River Community Hall Executive Board will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Swan River Community Hall.

New officers will be elected for the year and the board will review the by-laws of the organization. Public input and participation is welcome.

The Swan River Hall is on the corner of Swan River Road and Montana 83.

Old Time Fiddlers

The Montana Old Time Fiddlers will hold their monthly jam session at the Bigfork Inn on Dec. 15 from 2-5 p.m.

The public is invited to play, dance, or just sit back and listen. For more information call Ken Ripple at 837-2360 or Reg Wearly at 849-5099.

Pachyderm Club

The Glacier Pachyderm Club will meet as usual every Friday at noon at the Red Lion in Kalispell. Their programs at the next two meetings are:

Friday, Dec. 14 — Roger Laferriere, director of Flathead County Office of Emergency Services will address the group on the status of emergency planning for the county and upcoming and current challenges to providing support for predictable emergencies for county residents.

Friday, Dec. 21 — Major Steve Svenson of the Salvation Army will talk about the work of the Salvation Army in the area and how his organization contributes to the betterment of our community.

School grant

Open Mic Night

The winter venue for Clementine’s Open Stage is set at Owney’s in Bigfork. The next open mic night will be Saturday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.

A vegetarian meal will be served as local musicians, poets, and writers perform. Everyone is invited to perform.

Christmas Performances

• Julliard graduate Wai Mizutani and Siobhan McGuire will perform a music recital at John Paul II Church in Bigfork on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. Cost is free, but there will be a freewill donation set up for the church’s youth programs.

• First Baptist Church of Bigfork is putting on a free Christmas Cantata, “The Birth of the King,” on Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.

Landscape Raffle for BHS senior class

Bigfork High School’s senior class is raffling off a $5,000 Extreme Landscape Makeover. Cost is $20 per ticket or six tickets for $100 and only 750 tickets will be sold. Tickets can be purchased from any BHS senior. The raffle drawing will be held April 16, 2013 and landscape work will be done May 18, 2013.
