Rivals pin Dogs
Whitefish’s wrestling team dropped a
conference dual Thursday at home to rival Columbia Falls. The
Wildcats tallied nine pins in the 75-12 win over the Bulldogs.
Whitefish senior Wolf Zinke picked up a
pin in the heavyweight match, taking down Wade Motichka in the
first round at the 1:23 mark.
The 189-pounders put on the best show
of the night. Whitefish’s Kyle Bowerman took a 7-1 lead into the
final round with Travis Province. With the support of the home
crowd, Bowerman dominated the match with multiple takedowns.
Province, however, took advantage of a tactical error in the waning
minutes and ended up scoring a pin at 5:32.
