Dance show
Dancers from Whitefish Dance & Acrobat Studio and alumni dancers will present “Gotta Dance” in the Little Theater at Columbia Falls High School on Friday, June 8, at 7 p.m. with hip hop, jazz, ballet, tumbling, acrobatics, clogging and tap dancing. Tickets are $12 in advance available at Whitefish Dance at the Mountain Mall, call 862-3453, or $15 at the door.
Trail fundraiser
The Gateway to Glacier Trail group will hold a community yard sale as a fundraiser at 474 C Street, in Columbia Falls, on Saturday, June 9, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds will to the organization’s effort to build a paved bike and pedestrian path along U.S. 2 from Coram to West Glacier. To donate items, call 892-2011. Items can be dropped off on Friday, June 8, or Saturday, June 9, after 7 a.m.
Farmers market
The Columbia Falls Farmers Market will start up at Glacier Discovery Square on Thursday, June 14. The market will be held every Thursday evening this summer from 5 to 7:30 p.m. featuring locally grown produce, herbs, bedding plants and flowers, locally made crafts and artisan edibles, live music, food and childrens activities hosted by Stumptown Art Studio. Anyone with excess produce from their garden may donate it to the Columbia Falls Community Garden vendor table to benefit the community garden. Remaining produce will go to the Columbia Falls Food Bank. EBT/Montana Access Cards are now accepted at the market. For more information, visit online at wwwfirstbestplace.org.
Chamber social
The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours social event will take place at Angie’s Greenhouse, on the U.S. 2 strip in Columbia Falls, on Thursday, June 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with door prizes and snacks.
Garage sale
The North Valley Senior Center, on Nucleus Avenue, will hold a garage sale on Friday and Saturday, June 15-16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items for sale will include furniture, snowblowers, small household appliances, picture frames, clothing and much more.
Dinner for garden
First Best Place will host a dinner event at Glacier Discovery Square on Saturday, June 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. to support the Columbia Falls Community Garden at River’s Edge Park, now in its second growing season. A generous local donor has offered a matching grant for the project of up to $5,000, so every dollar raised will be doubled. Bible school
The First Baptist Church in Columbia Falls will offer a vacation Bible school for children from three years old to sixth grade from June 11 to 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, call Pastor Marc at 892-3729.
Kids quilting
The Columbia Falls Teakettle Quilt Guild will offer a Kids Quilting Class for ages 10-14 on Monday through Thursday, June 11-14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The class will be held in the Columbia Falls High School home economics classroom. Cost is $15, with all materials provided. Sign-up forms are at the public library.
IONS meet
The local Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) community group will meet at the Bohemian Grange, directly west of Montana Coffee Traders on U.S. 93 in Whitefish, on Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. Jack Kuehn will talk about “What can honeybees teach us?” Kuehn, of Whitefish, interned with one of the world’s foremost honeybee breeders, Brother Adam, of Buckfast Abbey, in Devon, England.
