Francis McBride

Francis LaVerne McBride, 94, passed away with her family at her side on May 31, 2012, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

Francis was born March 7, 1918, in St. Clair County, Mo., to Addis and Blanche (Heath) Allison. She was raised in Kansas City, Mo.

She married Samuel Duane McBride on Sept. 23, 1939. While married to Sam McBride, they had seven children.

They were married for 27 years when Sam passed away in July 1966.

While married they traveled to many places, including Missouri, Wyoming, Minnesota and Montana. Sam worked for many years in farming before going to work for Montana Power and Gas Pipeline. 

Francis enjoyed her family, fishing and picking huckleberries, and most of all she enjoyed cooking for the family and walking. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Addis and Blanche Allison; husband Samuel McBride; son Duane McBride; brother Delmer Allison; and sister Matel Lea Allison.

She is survived by her children Sandy Swanson, of Island Park, Idaho, Jim McBride, of Kalispell, Joanne McDonald, of Wisconsin, Bob McBride and wife Kathy, of Columbia Falls, Sharon Belcourt and husband Ron, of Havre, and Don McBride and wife Donna, of Missouri; grandchildren Raymond, Donnie Jr., Clifford, Jonathan, Richard, Sketter, Becky, Sam, Kelye, Bobbie, Frank, Samual, Lucille, Michael, George, Angela, Fernand, Virginia, Tammie, Carl and Chantel; sisters Myrtle Ellen and Viola Fick; 31 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

A graveside service was held June 4, 2012, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.
