Summer concert series starts June 21

The Columbia Falls Lions Club Summer Concert Series begins this year on June 21. Anyone or business interested in being a sponsor can call committee chairman Mark Johnson at 314-0200.

The one-hour concerts will be held at the Don Lawrence Amphitheater in Marantette Park, in Columbia Falls, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are requested. The audience is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

June 21 — Pizzazz Jazz, an nine-piece group playing old standards, Latin and modern, begins earlier at 6:30 p.m.

June 28 — Left Over Biscuits, fun-loving bluegrass band that can’t be missed

July 5 — Tra La Gael, Irish folk tunes on authentic instruments

July 12 — Sax–O–Phun, a versatile sax quartet with an expanded repertoire

July 19 — D. L. Orchestra, Big Band sounds of yesteryear and now

July 26 — Heritage Days Concert, Rocky Mountain Rhythm Kings, playing Dixieland jazz, and the Flathead Community Band, begins earlier at 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 2 — Columbia Falls Community Choir, a 100 voice group with something for everyone

Aug. 9 — Encore concert with Brass-Werks, with music from Bach to Count Basie
