Dean’s lists

James Nichols, of Columbia Falls, earned a 4.0 GPA at the University of Great Falls and was named to the 2011 fall semester dean’s list.

Catherine Castle, of Columbia Falls, was named to the dean’s list for the 2011 fall semester at Emory College, in Atlanta, Ga.

Thomas Wright, of Columbia Falls, was among the 40 top seniors at Montana State University-Bozeman presented with an award for excellence based on academic achievement, campus leadership and community service. Wright is majoring in biochemistry.

Military news

Air Force Airman Marty Stevens, a 2011 graduate of Columbia Falls High School, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas. Stevens completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
