Duane Macal

Duane Harry Macal, 76, died April 23, 2012, at his home in Columbia Falls.

He was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Frazee, Minn., the son of Harry and Cecelia (Loebrick) Macal. He graduated from Frazee High School.

Duane married Arleen Alice Olson on Feb. 6, 1955. They moved near Columbia Falls in April 1972. Duane started a carpentry business and got to fish, hunt and trap, and spend time with the family outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Arleen Macal, of Columbia Falls; children Sandra Gracey and husband Kevin, of Des Moines, Iowa, Diane Farnes and husband Dale, of Kalispell, James Macal and Jeff Macal, both of Columbia Falls, Robin Macal, of Jackson, Wyo., and Russell Macal and wife Barb, of Corvallis, Ore.; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service took place on April 28, 2012, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Columbia Falls.
