| May 16, 2012 11:05 AM

Monte Lorrin Senner Jr., 56, passed away suddenly at his home in Columbia Falls on Friday, May 11, 2012, of a heart attack.

He was born on Aug. 27, 1955, in Kalispell to Peggy (House) and Monte Senner, Sr.

Monte attended school in Evergreen and graduated from Flathead High School in 1973. Shortly after, he married the love of his life, Barbara Lee Strandberg. They enjoyed 38 years of marriage and together they raised two children, Brandie McCracken and Shilo Senner.

Monte worked at Columbia Falls Aluminum Company for 35.5 years. He was a dedicated employee and cherished his coworkers. He was an honest and loyal man who stood up for what he believed was right. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

His hobby was carpentry. He and Barb built their house and then proceeded to build a house for each of their children along with many other construction projects along the way. He also enjoyed farming and gardening. He, along with his wife, recently started their own business called Ache-N-Acres, where they did lawn care, Bobcat work and other odd jobs. They sold their veggies at the local Farmer’s Market where Monte became quite a people person. He enjoyed helping his wife put together garage sales, even if he didn’t act like it. He was known for his amazing cookies and was always creating some new concoction. His grandkids loved those cookies.

Monte was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time with his family at his special hunting ground. He did manage to bag a couple of big ones over the years and even if he didn’t fill his tags, he was just happy to be up in the mountains.

Monte was preceded in death by his grandparents, Spike and Daisy Senner and Ruby Brockway; his mother and father-in-law, Ruth and Howard Strandberg; and his brother-in-laws, Eddy Strandberg, Gary Strandberg, Dennis Leo, Delmer Molitor.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara Senner, his daughter, Brandie (Ba) and husband Jason McCracken; his son, Shilo Senner; four grandchildren, Keagan, Timber, Takeylie, and Blayze McCracken, all of Columbia Falls. He is also survived by his parents Monte and Peggy Senner of Kalispell; his siblings, Valerie Leo of Shelby, Brad (Michelle) Senner, Brent (Missy) Senner, Vienna Senner, Shannon (Al) Vacura, all of Kalispell; his brother-in laws, Bill (Penny) Strandberg and Jim (Rita) Stranger all of Helena; and his sister-in-laws, Ardyth (Diane) Huinier of Hettinger, N.D.; Sheri (Dan) Muller of Billings. He also had many beloved nieces, nephews and great friends, all of whom he loved and cherished. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There will be a barbecue/potluck to celebrate Monte’s life with his family and loved ones at the Senner residence on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 1p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided.
