Peter Hofer

Peter John “Don” Hofer, 68, passed away May 4, 2012, in Kalispell.

He was born on July 4, 1943, in Magrath, Alberta, to Kay and Peter Hofer. The family moved to Columbia Falls in 1950, where he attended Deer Park and Fairview schools.

Don married Sandra Solberg in 1966; they later divorced. He moved to Kalispell and worked as a golf course greens superintendent for several years at Buffalo Hill Golf Course in Kalispell and Glacier View Golf Course in West Glacier. Don was a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

He is survived by his daughter Doni Hofer and grandsons Anthony and Corey Brannon, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; daughter Kimber Erb, her husband Kristian and their daughters Chloe and Clarissa, of Columbia Falls; son Peter Hofer, of Lakeside; brother Benny Hofer and wife Connie, of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; sisters Ruth Stutzman and husband Merv, of Christmas Valley, Ore., Dorothy Miller, of Stover, Mo., and Carol Dashiell, of Christmas Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

A funeral service was held at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home on May 9, 2012. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery.
