First Best Place will host a dinner event at Glacier Discovery Square on Saturday, June 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. to support the Columbia Falls Community Garden at River’s Edge Park, now in its second growing season.

The garden has 14 rental plots and a large “volunteer veggie” section maintained by volunteers and the Community Garden coordinator, Debby Becker.

A generous local donor has offered a matching grant for the project of up to $5,000, so every dollar raised will be doubled, she said.

The “volunteer veggie” section provides hundreds of pounds of produce to area residents who purchase Community Shared Agriculture shares. The remaining production will provide fresh vegetables to the Columbia Falls Food Bank.

Catered by Cimarron Café, the event will feature live music by Andre Floyd and a no-host bar and art auction. Tickets for the dinner event are $30, available at Cimarron Café or online at www.firstbestplace.org. For more information, call 892-1363.
