Rupp is new coach for Glacier Twins

The Glacier Twins American Legion Baseball Board of Directors have named Bob Rupp, of Columbia Falls, as the head coach and general manager of the Twins for the 2013 season.

Rupp has served in the Glacier Twins program previously as a board member, assistant coach and head coach. 

He has also been involved with the Glacier Babe Ruth program in various capacities, including the board of directors (1993-1997 and 2010-2011), president of Whitefish Baseball (1995-1997) and head coach (1989-1997 and 2010-2011).

Rupp coached high school baseball in Issaquah, Wash. (1998-2004) and Auburn, Wash., and Gold Beach, Ore. He guided Gold Beach to the Oregon State High School playoffs in 2005, 2006 and 2008.

He also coached the Washington All-State High School baseball team; the CABA 15-year-olds to a regional championship and then a third-place finish in the World Series; USSSA Baseball 15-year-olds to a World Qualifier second place; the Mickey Mantle Baseball State Champions; and the Bellevue, Wash., Lakeside Recovery Junior Legion Team that claimed the championship of the 2004 Ed Gallo Tournament in Whitefish.
