Park paving

| October 17, 2012 7:54 AM

In response to Glacier National Park’s rampant, unchecked, cancerous paving and road construction spree of the last decade, creating even more parking in Apgar Village and Avalanche Creek, I believe the National Park Service should re-write the Organic Act of 1916:

“To conserve the parking lot and the natural and historic parking lots and the wild parking lots therein and to provide for the parking enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave parking unimpaired for the parking enjoyment of future parking generations.”

It is absolutely absurd that, in 2012, we continue unabated to pave under our national parks. I am appalled at what my children and their children will have left of these natural paved treasures. Welcome to the National Pavement Service and the paved lands they hold in paved ownership.

How about taking all the asphalt in the Park and dumping it in front of headquarters where it belongs.
