Spikers win a pair on southwest trip

The Columbia Falls volleyball team got back on the winning track last week, dropping Hamilton and Corvallis in a doubleheader away Oct. 18.

Against the Lady Broncs, the girls were led by Hope Burlage and Haley Belgarde with 18 kills apiece. Tiffany Hummer had 23 digs, and the team had a whopping 93 digs total in the 25-19, 25-12, 16-25, 20-25, 17-15 win.

Against Corvallis, the girls fell behind to the Blue Devils by two games, 25-20, 25-17, before rallying for three straight wins, 25-14, 25-16, 15-11, as the young team begins to build some confidence at the end of the season.

The girls will travel to Frenchtown on Saturday to end the regular season. The divisional tournament this year will be in Frenchtown Nov. 2 and 3.
