Movie night supports Canyon trail project

The Gateway to Glacier Trail organization will present a second showing of the award-winning documentary film “The Lookout” along with another Brian Bolster film, “Mercantile,” at the O’Shaughnessy, in Whitefish, on Friday, April 26, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and films starting at 7 p.m.

Leif Haugen, star of the award-winning first film, will be on hand. The second film is about the Polebridge Mercantile.

The fundraising event for a bike trail along U.S. 2 between Coram and West Glacier also will include a silent auction of gifts, handicrafts, pies and other desserts.

The trail organization already has raised $65,000 of the $180,000 it needs as a match for the $840,000 in CTEP money Flathead County awarded the group for trail construction costs. The group needs to raise the remaining $115,000 over the next year.

Advance tickets are $8 per person and $15 per family up to four available at Glacier Frame Shop, Wallflower Flowers and Gifts, and the Shops at Station 8, in Columbia Falls. Admission at the door will be $10 per person and $20 per family.
