Whitefish Independent High School students will turn the school into a restaurant next week.

Students at Whitefish Independent High School will once again transform the school into a restaurant next week when The Kiwi Kabana opens for two nights.

The annual event is part fundraiser and part lesson for the students. This year the restaurant will be open on Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26. Dinner service is at 6, 7 or 8 p.m.

Tyler Ferguson, WIHS alumni and local chef, coordinates the menu and works with the students. Students turn the building into a restaurant by determining a budget, decorating the school and menu planning. On the nights the restaurant is open students serve in a variety of roles by cooking, serving and managing.

Diners at The Kiwi Kabana have a choice of three entrees — baked pork chop with asparagus and kiwi-mango glaze for $22, salmon with pearl couscous and dill aioli for $25 or vegetarian pesto pasta with fresh peas, spring onions, carrots and baby tomatoes for $18. Salad, soup and beverages are included.

A choice of dessert is available with chocolate decadence for $7 and kiwi gateau for $8.

Reservations are required by April 19. For more information contact the school at 862-8688 or email hansenb@wfps.k12.mt.us.
