Police calls: Cyclist chased by three naked men

Monday, Aug. 12

8:46 a.m. A burglar entered an office on Railway Street after cutting through a window screen. A bike was missing.

12:03 p.m. A boxer dog was running loose and disturbing people on East 13th Street.

12:20 p.m. Report of slashed tires on Dakota Avenue.

12:27 p.m. Report of a cell phone dropped into the lake.

5:12 p.m. A man on Spokane Avenue was arrested after allegedly choking his girlfriend and chasing her with a knife.

5:53 p.m. A transient with a vicious dog at the library was told to move along.

6:10 p.m. Transients were partying and making a mess on Mill Avenue.

6:29 p.m. Police were flagged down by a man who was stung by a bee. He was taken to his motel.

9 p.m. Report of a man waving a gun toward children at Smith Fields.

Tuesday, Aug. 13

1:34 a.m. Report of a group of boys wearing hoodies breaking bottles on West 2nd Street.

2:43 a.m. A man in blue jeans and cowboy boots was asleep and snoring on the side of West 2nd Street.

4:23 p.m. Illegal dumping of garbage was reported on East Lakeshore.

8:26 p.m. An intoxicated man was stumbling into traffic on Wisconsin Avenue.

11:22 p.m. A man and two women were sleeping at the beach.

Wednesday, Aug. 14

3:30 a.m. An intoxicated man with lacerations on his face was taken to the hospital. He possibly had alcohol poisoning and cut his face after falling down.

7:37 a.m. Garbage can were knocked over at East 6th Street.

5:37 p.m. An RV covered with swastikas was parked at the Grouse Mountain tennis courts.

5:59 p.m. Report of an intoxicated man at an apartment on Wisconsin Avenue who reportedly threw this girlfriend around, slammed her head into a wall and choked her. The man was arrested and while en route to the detention center he attempted to slip his cuffs.

6:06 p.m. Teens were using heavy machinery to shape the dirt jumps at the bike park. They were advised to wait for adult supervision.

11:13 p.m. An intoxicated man with a service dog was being obnoxious and attempting to start fights at a bar downtown.

11:19 p.m. Report of a Jeep Cherokee stolen from West 2nd Street. An unknown man asked the vehicle owner for a cigarette, then five minutes later the Jeep was gone. The Jeep was unlocked and the keys were inside. It was last seen headed toward Kalispell.

Thursday, Aug. 15

11:27 p.m. A vehicle owner on Maple Avenue put his car up on blocks, took the stereo out and removed the wheels before the repo man could tow it away.

12:01 p.m. A man in his 50s riding a moped was causing traffic problems near the 2nd Street construction site.

1:57 p.m. A Calgary woman reported to police that she hit a light pole in town last week. She didn’t report the incident at the time. The body shop in Calgary wouldn’t fix her car until she filed a police report.

4:03 p.m. A man alleged that a woman driving a Prius caused his son to crash his bike.

7:08 p.m. Report of a 2-year-old boy who was kicked in the head by a horse. The boy was bleeding from the mouth and losing consciousness.

7:37 p.m. Report of a man in a downtown bar with a gun on his belt.

11:42 p.m. A burglar broke into a home on Minnesota Avenue after prying out a window. Items were broken, but nothing was missing.

Friday, Aug. 16

12:47 a.m. Transients at City Beach were being loud and using obscenities.

1:48 a.m. A woman was arrested on Central Avenue for assault.

3:40 p.m. A kids bike was stolen from Colorado Avenue.

6:17 p.m. A woman on Birch Point Drive was worried her boyfriend was going to take her daughter.

Saturday, Aug. 17

7:41 a.m. A woman on Columbia Avenue woke up to find an unknown man sleeping on her couch.

8:10 a.m. A adult tricycle was stolen from East 6th Street.

10:18 a.m. A man and woman were seen near Bay Point Drive with a baby deer on a leash.

11:20 a.m. Report of a fuel tanker driving through town dragging fuel lines.

6:34 p.m. Report of a couple at a Chinese restaurant being rude and vulgar, and cursing at people. The man asked the reporting caller to step outside and fight. The dispute was over cell phone usage inside the restaurant.

8:02 p.m. A hot pink bike with lime handlebars was stolen from Colorado Avenue.

8:39 p.m. A fawn with a green rope around its neck was seen near Marina Crest Lane.

Sunday, Aug. 18

3:18 a.m. Report of a man sleeping on the side of U.S. 93 West with his head in the road.

3:43 a.m. A man on a bike said he was being chased by three naked men on Central Avenue.

4:02 a.m. An intoxicated couple was heard arguing for 45 minutes at an apartment building on Colorado Avenue.

10:03 a.m. A deer stuck in a fence on Baker Avenue was freed.

10:16 p.m. A woman on East 7th Street reported she was shoved and hit by another woman with a walker.

1:15 p.m. A laptop and desktop computer were stolen from a pickup on Central Avenue.

4:26 p.m. Report of a woman recently tested for schizophrenia that thought there may be corpses around her.
