The Columbia Falls speech and debate team had several first-place finishes as they racked up another victory, this time in Libby on Dec. 7. The Wildcats took first in the Class A Sweeps.

First-place winners included Mason Gedlaman in humorous oral interpretation and impromptu speaking, Mara Barnes and Monique Schoech in policy debate, Baylee Brinton in expository speaking, and newcomer Mark Hader in serious oral interpretation.

It was also the last meet for the junior varsity squad.

“I really appreciate the hard work from our JV this year,” coach Tara Norick said. “These students are the future of our team, and we look for great things from them in the years to come.”
