Rotary Club says thanks

The Rotary Club of Columbia Falls was as disappointed as anyone that the decision was made to cancel the annual Night of Lights parade. The club is the sponsor of the parade and had invested a lot of time and effort in coordination as well as funds for advertising the event.

That said, we were totally understanding of the decision as the health and safety of the community comes must come first, and with the temperatures dropping to dangerous lows, we feel the city made the right call.

We are very grateful that the community realized that our Brunch With Santa fundraiser was still on, and we would like to thank everyone who helped to make it a success. We appreciate North Valley Hospital sponsoring the event again this year, also thanks to the management and staff of Timber Creek Village, who hosted the event for the second year in their beautiful facility.

The local restaurants who donated food for the brunch kept everyone well fed and included the Nite Owl, Cimarron Cafe, Tien’s, Phygg’s Deli, Cupcakes by Holly, Laurie’s Deli, Three Forks Grill, The Zone, The Palette Cafe, Pizza Hut and the Boy Scouts of Troop 41 who made pancakes.

The local business who donated items for our silent auction were extremely generous again this year, and because of your support we will be able to continue to help and improve our community.  

Last year, with the proceeds of our Rotary Rifle Raffle and Brunch With Santa we were able help support the Columbia Falls Food Bank, Boys and Girls Club, Montana Wounded Warriors, Flathead Care, CASA, Braveheart Ministries, swimming lessons for kids at the city pool, sponsored the fifth and sixth grade girls volleyball and basketball teams in the Flathead County Parks and Rec league, sent two high school students to our Rotary Youth leadership training, provided dictionaries to all third graders in the school district and a Red Bus trip for residents of the Montana Veterans Home in Glacier Park.

This is all made possible by the generosity of this wonderful community that makes Columbia Falls such a great place to live.
