Lori Sablan
Lori Louise Moulds Sablan, 50, of Reno, Nev., passed away Dec. 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, following a motor vehicle accident one week earlier.
She was born Aug. 18, 1963, in Aberdeen, S.D., to James and Kathy Moulds.
Lori attended school in Columbia Falls and graduated from Poplar High School in 1981.
She enrolled in Northern Montana College, pursuing general studies for a year prior to enlisting in the United States Army. She was active duty, serving her country for 10 1/2 years. She served a tour of duty in the Middle East as part of the 330 Transportation Corp. during Desert Storm. Lori received many military commendations during her service and was honorably discharged in 1995.
She continued her service by becoming a federal corrections officer with the United States Bureau of Prisons in Ely, Nev., Yankton S.D., and Herlong, Calif. She received numerous honors and recognitions as as an outstanding officer.
Lori was a vibrant, caring woman who loved the outdoors, fishing with her significant other Barry Thomas, and spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh, she loved animals, and she loved traveling around the country.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Hugh and Louise LaBay and Henry and Alby Zeman, and her father James Moulds.
She is survived by her mother, Kathy Moulds, of Kalispell; sister Charlene Moulds, of Kalispell; and her aunt Joan Livingstone, of New York City.
A memorial service will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 329 Second Avenue East, in Kalispell, on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
