Sheriffs should protect Constitutional rights

Hats off to the Montana Sheriffs of Sanders, Powell, Ravalli, Wibaux, Yellowstone and Lake County that have publically state that they will not allow any unconstitutional laws that infringe on its citizens right to bear arms to be enforced by local or federal law enforcement in their county.

Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry states that these sheriffs are “jumping the gun” about things that will never come to pass. Sorry, Sheriff, but I respectfully disagree with you on this one, as I recall Waco, Texas and Ruby Ridge, Idaho where local county sheriffs allowed the FBI and ATF to take over, resulting in the deaths of many citizens that could have been avoided. Also, I guess you are not aware that after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, federal law enforcement went house to house and confiscated every firearm from each and everyone. This was under the guise that it was for every person’s safety, yeah right.

The elected county sheriff is our main protection against any federal government attempt to remove any of our constitutional rights bestowed to us by God and written down by the Founding Fathers.

Unlike police chiefs who are hired, not elected, a sheriff cannot be coerced into being one of Obama’s uniformed stooges standing with him during his anti-gun photo ops.

I do not believe that I stand alone when I state my concern of the present administration’s well-planned destruction of the America which most of us love and cherish.
