Hunter education classes scheduled

• Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks will offer free hunter education classes at the Columbia Falls High School on April 11, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23 and 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. with a field course on Saturday, April 27, and test night on April 30. By state law, anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985, must complete the course to buy a hunting license in Montana.

Register by March 23 online at fwp.mt.gov, click education. A mandatory orientation will take place at the Columbia Falls fire hall on March 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Students must bring their permission slips with them at that time, and they will receive their manuals and assignments. • Bowhunter education classes for the Columbia Falls area willtake place at the North Valley Community Center, on Nucleus Avenue, on June 11 and 13 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. with a field course on June 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. Test night will be June 17 from 6:30-9 p.m. For more information, call Dave Yeats at 892-4527.

Registration will be done online at http://my.register-ed.com/event/studentchooseevent. Students 18 or older may take the course online at www.bowhunter-ed.com/mt/index.htm, but field day options are limited to July 20 at the Flathead Valley Trap Club in Kalispell unless arrangements can be made with an instructor.
