Old Time Fiddlers
The Montana Old Time Fiddlers will be holding their monthly gathering at the Bigfork Inn, 604 Electric Ave., on Saturday March 9 from 2-5 p.m.
Participants can bring fiddle, guitar, banjo etc. to join in and players of all levels are welcome. The public is also welcome to come and listen, dance or just hang out.
Swan River School eighth grade seeks funding for annual History Trip
Swan River School’s eighth-grade class is seeking donations for their annual History Trip on May 21-24. During this trip, SRS students will visit historical sites around the state including: Helena, Deer Lodge, Virginia City and Yellowstone.
Donations will be put into a raffle, silent auction or spaghetti dinner. All the money raised from the donations will help pay for the students’ entrance fees to state parks, tours, meals, and lodging.
The spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be April 19 from 5-7 p.m. in the SRS cafeteria.

Neighbor Mondays at Dairy Queen
The Bigfork School Garden and the Bigfork Boy Scout Troop will receive 20 percent of the profits made at Bigfork Dairy Queen as part of their Neighbor Monday program.
The school garden’s day for fundraising is March 4 and the Boy Scouts’ day is March 11.
The troop’s proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward sending the scouts on a trip to Melita Island Camp on Flathead Lake and a 50-mile hike in the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
Stitch Out
A “stitch out” for knitters and crocheters to make scarves for Hugs for Hope will be held on Friday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork. Call 837-4387 for details.
iPad Basics
The Bigfork Library will hold an informational session on basic iPad use, including apps, photos and settings on March 7 from 9-10 a.m. Participants with iPads should bring them fully charged.
Republican trip to Helena
The Flathead County Republican Women are taking a bus trip for both women and men to Helena on March 14 and 15 to have dinner with legislators and participate in St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The remainder of the day will be spent at the Capitol attending hearings, Senate and House floor sessions, and visiting with the legislators before returning to the Flathead Valley on Friday evening.

Homemade Laundry Soap with ESP
Essential Stuff Project will learn about homemade laundry soap with Sheree Tompkins with a discussion about GMO awareness at the Crestview Senior Housing Club House, 103 Crestview Drive, on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. For more information call 837-5196.

Pied Piper Performance at SMS
Students from Lakeside Elementary School and Somers Middle School will perform “The Pied Piper” along with the Missoula Children’s Theatre on March 2 at the SMS gym.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Somers is presented by the Somers-Lakeside PTA with support from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, sponsorships from local businesses, organizations and support from individuals.

Crisis line training
The Abbie Shelter and the Violence Free Crisis Line will offer victim advocate volunteer training at the United Way conference room at the Gateway Community Center, in Kalispell.
Classes include March 5, from 6-9 p.m., Interpersonal Violence 101; March 7, from 6-9 p.m., Power and Oppression; March 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., DV Day; March 12, from 6-9 p.m., Rape and Sexual Assault; March 14, from 6-9 p.m., Community Resources; and March 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Taking Crisis Line Calls.
