John Marshall Denny
John Marshall Denny, 25, of Whitefish, went home to be with his Lord on Feb. 19.
John was born on June 5, 1987 in Fridley, Minn., the eldest of two boys born to John and Dawn Denny. John graduated from Whitefish Independent High School in 2007 and attended Flathead Valley Community College.
John spent many summer days at Glacier National Park with his family. John was very creative with a gift for making unique pottery, and recently, he authored a book. He enjoyed playing golf with his grandparents, bowling, and playing cards with his extended family. John was employed at Whitefish Care and Rehabilitation Center in Whitefish as a Floor Technician.
John endeared himself to his family and friends with his sense of humor, winsome personality, and love for life often providing much needed comic relief. He was known for his generous spirit, asking for nothing in return.
John faced mental health challenges every day with courage and perseverance. This struggle was often visibly difficult and ultimately overwhelming. John entered the presence of God having trusted Christ as his Savior at an early age.
John is survived by his parents, John R. and Dawn (Fuller) Denny, of Whitefish; his brother, Matthew Denny; grandmother, Donna Jean Fuller; grandmother, Joan Denny; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert E. Denny, who died in 1999; and his grandfather, Donald C. Fuller, who died in 2004.
A service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 1 at First Baptist Church on U.S. 93 South in Whitefish followed by a luncheon at the church. Interment will take place at Mt Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls at a later date. The family is being cared for by Austin Funeral home in Whitefish.
