Edward Kelley

Edward S. Kelley, 86, passed away July 15, 2013, at the Montana Veterans Home in Columbia Falls.

He was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on June 10, 1927, to Olive and Edward Kelley and was educated in the Kalispell schools.

He joined the Navy at 17 years old and was on the USS Missouri during the signing of the Japanese peace treaty. He was honorably discharged and returned to Kalispell.  

Edward was a construction worker on the Hungry Horse Dam, the Anaconda Aluminum Co. plant and with Ureco Logging and Road Builders.

He is survived by his son Robert; daughters Darlene and Glenda; sisters Joanna Bitney, Patricia Higson and husband Bob, Jeanie Knutson and husband Leonard, Laura Cave and husband Jack, and Ellen Fishel; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will take place at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell on Thursday, July 18, at 10 a.m.
