Emmett Myhre

Emmett Bernard Myhre, 102, passed away June 4, 2013, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. 

He was born Aug. 1, 1910, in Lidgerwood, N.D., to Nels and Minda Severson Myhre. He attended grade school in Colton, S.D., and graduated from high school in 1928 in Colton. 

He met Maybelle Stivers in Colton, S.D., and they were married Jan. 21, 1940, at Esterville, Iowa. In 1941, he accepted a position with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and was a member of the Hoover Dam and Power Plant engineering staff. In 1950, he was transferred to the Hungry Horse Dam project, and in 1961 he was appointed dam superintendent, retiring in 1971.

Funeral services were held June 7, 2013, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark Gravrock officiating. Burial was at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
