Two West Glacier rafting companies are organizing clean-up projects on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River for this month.

The 11th annual noxious weed pulling rodeo along the Middle Fork of the Flathead River will take place Friday, June 21, starting at Wild River Adventures in West Glacier at 4 p.m. Volunteers will ride a bus to the Moccasin Creek river access to pull weeds and then return to the raft company for a free barbecue, with cash and prizes given out.

Montana Raft Company and Glacier Guides will host their annual Rafting for Refuse event on Saturday, June 22, starting at their offices in West Glacier at 9:30 a.m. The company has been cleaning up the river since 1997. Volunteers, who need to sign up ahead of time by calling 387-5555, will be shuttled to various river put-ins and pick up trash as they raft downstream. Volunteers will return around noon for a complimentary barbecue.
