Glacier National Park wants to hear from the public on how best to manage the Going-to-the-Sun Road corridor now that construction is nearing an end.

Several public meetings are scheduled in and around the Park this summer to solicit ideas, concerns and impressions regarding future management of the Sun Road corridor.

A record of decision for the plan and its environmental impact statement is anticipated by 2016. Sun Road rehabilitation construction work is projected to be finished by 2017.

An open house will take place at the Flathead National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 650 Wolfpack Way, in Kalispell, on Monday, June 24, from 4-7 p.m. Conversations with visitors also will be hosted throughout the Park on July 19 and Aug. 9.

Public comments may be submitted online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/glac or by mailing Glacier National Park, Attn: GTSR Corridor Plan, P.O. Box 128, West Glacier MT 59936. Public scoping comments are due by Sept. 6, 2013.
