Jean Jones

“Our sweet Momma and beloved Grams,” Jean Annie Jones, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 17, 2013, in Kalispell.

She was born on June 18, 1933, in London, England, to Stanley James and Dora (Bungey) Bartter.

Jean was raised in London until she met her husband Rex Jones in 1951, who was serving in the Army. Following their marriage, they were blessed with their first daughter.

Jean and her daughter bravely made the long journey across the ocean to America. Jean studied and gained her citizenship and became a U.S. citizen. In 1954, Jean was blessed with a second daughter in Texas, and three years later her youngest daughter joined the family in Alabama.

Jean dabbled in many careers, but her heart and soul was in being a wife and mother. Over her life, she selflessly volunteered not only in her children’s live but also in numerous other ways. In her later years, she was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she shared her zest for life with. “Rest in peace, Momma.”

She is preceded in death by her father Stanley; her mother Dora; her step-mother Dot; her son-in-law Ron; and one grandson, Jason.

Jean is survived by her three daughters, Sharyn Schrader and husband Lee, Deb Long and husband Dan, and Cindy Benson, all from Columbia Falls; her grandchildren Dan and Heidi Long, Bryan and Amber Long, Trevor Palmer, Kristyn and Keith Long, Meagan and Steve Guza, Ron and Julie Edwards, and Eric Schrader; and great grandchildren Shawn, Seonna, Caitlyn, Irie, Daniel, Junior, Amber-Jae, Dylan, Gracie, Landon and Jonny.

Memorial services for Jean were held March 22, 2013, at Johnson Gloschat Funeral Home.
