The Bigfork High School golf teams are gearing up for divisionals.

The teams will head to Bozeman on Monday for the Western B Divisional on Tuesday at Bridger Creek Golf Course.

Coach Steve Hullett is optimistic that both boys and girls squads will qualify for the state tournament, which will be May 20-22 at Bigfork’s Eagle Bend Golf Club.

A lot could depend on the Vikings’ fourth golfer. Hullett said that either Jonathan Landon or Nico Carie will likely have to shoot in the 90s for the Vikes to qualify.

For the Vals, a lot depends on the health of Maddie Lorang, who is suffering from a hand injury.

Hullett is hopeful that Blake Weimer, Lars Gittings, Ryder Trent and Kallister Meagher will qualify as individuals. To do that they will have to finish in the top 15 at the divisional.

Bigfork competed at St. Regis on Thursday with Kallister Meagher recording a sixth-place finish. Meagher shot a 118.

Blake Weimer shot an 83 and finished eighth, while Lars Gittings and Ryder Trent tied for ninth with an 88. Nico Carie shot a 135 to round out the Vikes’ team tally.

The remainder of the girls’ scores were as follows: Stevi Siloti, 131; Dylan Carlson, 134; and Josie Spoklie, 135. Maddie Lorang had to withdraw due to tendonitis in her hand.

Loyola won both the boys and girls team titles. The Vikes were sixth out of 11 while the Vals were fourth out of nine.
