Local lacrosse team heads to state after good season

The Flathead Lacrosse high school team wrapped up its regular season with a decisive 11- 3 win against Sentinel High School in Missoula on May 11.

Two Columbia Falls players filled critical roles in the victory. Sophomore attackman Henry Chisholm led the team with five goals and two assists, and junior Garrett Role added two assists and recovered five ground balls, leading to several scoring opportunities.

The Flathead Lacrosse high school program is only in its second year, but it finished the season with a record of 8-4 and was ranked third in the state.

The team will travel to Bozeman on May 11-12 for the state championship tournament at Montana State University, where they will compete against eight high school teams from Missoula, Bozeman, Polson, Helena and Billings.
