Sadatoshi 'Jim' Kajiwara

Sadatoshi ‘Jim’ Kajiwara, 91, died unexpectedly on May 17 at the Kalispell Regional Medical Center from complications of a liver infection.

He was born April 11, 1922 in Nyack. He graduated from Whitefish High School in 1942. He worked for the Great Northern Railroad until he retired in 1983. He enjoyed his retirement years, traveling, fishing, camping, and running his gun shop.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; son, John Kajiwara and wife Linda; two daughters, Linda Joyce and husband, Jack, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Sheree Kajiwara, of San Mateo, Calif.; two sisters, Sumiko Yasukawa, of San Jose, Calif., and Miki Lawson, of Seattle; one granddaughter, Jen Joyce and husband Brent; three step-grandchildren, Donald, Traci and Daniel; and five great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be cremated at the Austin Funeral Home. By request, he will not have any service and the family will have a private memorial for him at a later date.
