Police calls: Aggressive St. Bernard charges mail carrier
Monday, Oct. 28
11:20 a.m. Report of a resident on Wisconsin Avenue who allegedly said he was going to have a shootout with police and kill himself. The man was detained for a mental health evaluation.
Tuesday, Oct. 29
12:10 p.m. Report of a man walking up Iron Horse Drive with all of his belongs in a backpack. The man was advised to leave but kept walking toward the golf course.
3:45 p.m. Report of a backpack stolen from a vehicle on Creek View Drive.
5:21 p.m. Report of a couple on Central Avenue screaming profanities with their child nearby. They told police they were arguing with their parents on the phone. The couple was later seen on Baker Avenue getting into each other’s face and screaming while their child wandered around a parking lot. Police advised them they would be arrested if the antics continued.
Wednesday, Oct. 30
10:29 a.m. A man on Baker Avenue reportedly pulled a gun on another man during an argument.
1:20 p.m. A woman alleged her gardener broke into her office building on West 1st Street in Columbia Falls.
5:38 p.m. Report that Rocky the karelian bear dog was loose again on Lakeside Blvd.
Thursday, Oct. 31
1:34 p.m. An aggressive St. Bernard dog charged a mail carrier on East 9th Street.
10:30 p.m. Report of a man in a Chinese hat looking into cars.
11:40 p.m. A man was arrested on U.S. 93 South and charged with probation violation.
Friday, Nov. 1
2:39 a.m. Report of a loud party on East 2nd Street. A neighbor asked the parties to quiet down, but they just cursed at her.
12:44 p.m. Report of a woman using an ATM while wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses and a hospital mask. It seemed suspicious.
5:41 p.m. A woman on Waverly Place reported that a man dumped 10 bags of trash in her garbage container. When confronted the man said he’s lived in Whitefish for 22 years, so he can put his trash there if he wants. Police later counseled the man.
10:04 p.m. An ex-employee reportedly threatened to kill a worker at a downtown restaurant. Bouncers at a bar also heard the man threatening people and talking about murdering people.
Saturday, Nov. 2
1:31 p.m. A man in jail was calling someone six times a day asking them to visit.
1:58 p.m. Report of shoplifting caught on camera at a store on Baker Avenue.
8:21 p.m. A man in a Jeep was in a fast food drive-through on U.S. 93 South with his music blaring when he threw cans of Rock Star energy drink onto the ground. He then sped through a parking lot and drifted sideways.
Sunday, Nov. 3
8:35 p.m. A man on U.S. 93 South was concerned about his friend who he found high on drugs.
10:59 p.m. A man at a bar on Central Avenue called 911 to report that he was kicked out of a poker game.
