New license plate supports Wildcat sports
Wildcat fans can now show their support with a new Wildcat license plate and help Columbia Falls athletics to boot.
Last year, the Wildcat Athletic Endowment Fund chose a design by alumni Aric Tarr to adorn the vanity plate.
The endowment fund then received a $4,000 donation toward the cost of submitting the plate to the Department of Motor Vehicles, board member Kim Cheff said.
The plate hit the streets just before school started this year. It costs an additional $20 to get the plate when a person registers a vehicle and $20 more each year after that.
The funds will go toward the endowment fund, which is currently at $380,000. Interest from the endowment fund is used to support Columbia Falls athletics — from equipment purchases to covering the cost of meals for traveling athletes.
