Kudos to Larry Wilson

| October 22, 2013 11:03 AM

After reading Larry Wilson’s article on the government shutdown, I would like to say, kudos to you, Larry, I couldn’t agree more.

The only people hurt and affected by the shutdown are many folks here locally and nationwide that lost business and revenue due to the national parks being shut down, and local workers not being able to go to work because of being locked out of the parks.

Like Larry said, all of the government workers will be reimbursed, so it was more or less a paid vacation, whereas the people who lost money will not be reimbursed a single dime.

In my opinion, all of the politicians that we elected to serve us ought to be ashamed, and they should have been the ones put on unpaid administrative leave, period.

I don’t know about anyone else, but frankly I’m tired of our own government playing Russian roulette with our future, our livlihood and our incomes while they go to the gym and live it up back in Washington, D.C., and continue to point fingers back and forth at one another and accomplish not one thing to help and assure “we the people” while we pay their wages.

Think of all the money we could have saved and put toward the national debt had that happened. I bet the shutdown wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes if it came out of their pockets instead of the working class people.

What do you think your boss would have told you if you refused to get anything done? And to deny letting our veterans into the monuments, or better yet not paying for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom, is so shameful and disgusting it is beyond words. My hats off to you, Larry. Well put, indeed.
